Leaps and Bounds” is the same technique of creating a simple bowl and adding the clay coils one on top of each other. Creating these circular shapes that represents vines intertwining with one another, I was quite concerned that the coils would break halfway through the process. The top-level coils which are thinner than the base require substantially less in drying time. This made the process more difficult as care had to be taken to cover the base so that the piece dried and formed a stable bond without the clay burning.
